This fun and festive Pinata Rice Treat is the SWEETEST party animal! These are so easy to make and you can use your favorite crispy treat recipe or to make it even easier, use the store-bought rice treats!
Perfect dessert for your Cinco de Mayo party or for a fun fiesta themed party!
You will need:
- 2 store-bought Rice Krispie Treat bars
- 1 (16 oz.) can white frosting
- 1 cup sweetened shredded coconut
- Blue food coloring gel
- Purple food coloring gel
- Yellow food coloring gel
- Orange food coloring gel
- Pink food coloring gel
- 1 candy eye
- 6 candy corn
- Using a knife, cut off about 1/3 of 1 Rice Krispie Treat bar. Cut off the corners at one end for the piñata head.
- Attach the head to the end of the other Rice Krispie Treat with frosting.
- Spread frosting on top of the Rice Krispie Treats.
- Divide coconut into 5 plastic zipper bags.
- Place a small amount of food coloring gel in the bag. Place a different color in each bag. A little goes a long way.
- Knead gel into the coconut to incorporate.
- Starting with the pink coconut, press one row on the top of the piñata head. Continue to add rows with the remaining colors.
- Place a small amount of frosting on the back of the candy eye and place on the piñata head.
- Attach 2 candy corn with frosting for the ears to the top of the head.
- Turn 4 candy corn upside down and attach with frosting for the legs.
