How can this KITTY LITTER CAKE look so gross yet be yummy? My son and I made this cake years ago when he was a Cub Scout as a fundraiser for the Blue and Gold banquet. It won first place! It’s PERFECT for April Fools’ Day!
For your KITTY LITTER CAKE you will need:
1 box cake mix – any kind
can of white frosting
vanilla sandwich cookies like Golden Oreos
Tootsie Rolls
Green food coloring
Powdered sugar
NEW AND UNUSED Kitty litter scoop
1. Bake cake according to box in a 9×13 pan. Cool cake and frost with white frosting. In a blender or food processor, crumble the cookies. (I used about a dozen). Put about 1/4 of the crumbled cookies in a large plastic zipper bag and shake with a few drops of green food coloring. With the remaining cookie crumbs mix about 1/3 cup powdered sugar.
Sprinkle the white crumbs on the frosted cake. Then sprinkle green tinted crumbs on top. Microwave Tootsie Rolls (for about 8 seconds) and pinch ends together. Place on top of cake and hang one over the edge of the pan. Serve with a BRAND NEW pooper scooper.
Circa 2003. Auctioning off the Kitty Litter cake. My son Austin is to the left of the Cubmaster in the dark brown crew cut and the blue striped tie.
