I can’t tell you how much I love how colorful (and let’s face it – yummy) SweetWorks Sixlets and Gumballs are. The pastel chocolate coated goodness was just perfect for this cake. The pink shimmer Sixlets are so pretty!

First I frosted my sheet cake with white buttercream frosting. Then I used my favorite Viva Towel method to smooth the frosting – this technique is absolutely brilliant and I learned it from my super sweet and genius cakey friend Melissa from MyCakeSchool.com – you can get her Viva Towel tutorial here.
With a toothpick, I drew the bunny head and then placed the white Sixlets on the outline. I placed 2 black Sixlets for the eyes and the shimmer pink gumball for the nose and then filled in the head and ears with pink and white Sixlets.
Blue and yellow Sixlets make up the bow tie and I used purple shimmer Sixlets to frame the outside of the cake.
I then placed orange Sixlets on the cake for a polka dot pattern, and then filled in the rest of the top of the cake with light green Sixlets. Finally, I placed shimmer white and green gumballs around the bottom of the cake.
Ta-da! A show stopping Easter Bunny cake that is cute, colorful and oh so sweet. It did take a little time to make, but it was a lot of fun to do! I absolutely LOVE the final result!
