I know there are many versions of this recipe out there but this is THE BEST Christmas Crack Recipe! It’s so easy and ready in minutes. It’s a family favorite at our house! No candy thermometer needed!
You will need:
- About 50 saltine crackers
- 1 cup (2 sticks) butter
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 2 cups chocolate chips
- sprinkles or chopped nuts
- Cooking spray
- foil
- 12″x17″ baking sheet pan with sides
Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
Line the pan with aluminum foil and spray with cooking spray.
Place a layer of saltine crackers covering the bottom of the pan.
In a medium pan, melt the butter and sugar on the stove top. Stir constantly.
When the mixture starts to boil, set a time for three minute stir boiling mixture making sure it doesn’t burn.
After three minutes our the mixture over the crackers and spread with a spatula covering all of the crackers.
Put the crackers in the oven for about 4 minutes
Immediately sprinkle all the chocolate chips over the crackers. Place back in oven for two minutes.
Pull the crackers out of the oven and immediately spread the chocolate chips on top with a spatula. Scatter sprinkles or chopped nuts on top.
Place pan in freezer for 15 minutes. Cut into squares or break into pieces.
Can be stored in the refrigerator for a week in an airtight container. Ours never last for more than two days though because it’s so good! It really is the best Christmas Crack recipe!

- Place pan and freezer for 15 minutes. Cut into squares or break into pieces.
