I was trying to think of fun desserts for the Super Bowl. I came up with the idea of making sweet versions of the savory snacks we have for game day.
Chili? Not really. Here’s a sweet version of our favorite football food. I baked chocolate cake in our chili bowls, frosted them and added jelly beans. Topped with coconut tinted orange for cheese, it looked just like chili! Chocolate pudding would be even easier!
These buffallo wings are made entirely out of Kellogg’s rice krispie treats! I just shaped the treats to make them look like wings, and coated them in a nice brown sugar and tangerine juice glaze. For full instructions click here.
These were a BIG HIT! Cookie pizzas with “pepperoni”. Sugar cookies frosted with red icing, orange tinted coconut for cheese, green chopped gummy bears for peppers, brown M&Ms for olives and red fruit roll ups cut with a small round cookie cutter for pepperoni.
Cookie sliders! Golden Oreo Cakesters with Keebler grasshopper cookies. (If you can’t find the Cakester cookies, vanilla wafers work well also). Add some yellow and red frosting for the ketchup and mustard, tinted green coconut for the lettuce & top with sesame seeds – you’ve got a sweet little slider!
Hot dog! Totally inspired by Family Fun – these hot dogs have circus peanut buns, gumdrop relish and caramel shaped into hot dogs. Add a little frosting for mustard! (no ketchup please).
Add a little frosting to Oreo shaped football cookies – Touchdown!

My son and his friends are craaaaaaaaaaaazy about football. Fine with me. Superbowl = Food!
My favorite dip recipe is Artichoke Dip – Super easy, super yummy and everyone will want the recipe…
Artichoke Dip
1 can waterpacked artichokes, drained and chopped (not seasoned)
1 cup mayo
1 cup shredded parmesan
1-2 cloves garlic, pressed
Mix together and put into a small cassserole dish. Bake at 350 for 20 minutes. This will go fast, I usually double the recipe. 🙂
Serve with crackers
Yummy and easy pizza dip
1 (8oz) soft cream cheese with chives
1/2 cup chunky pizza sauce
1/2 cup chopped pepperoni
1 cup grated mozzarella cheese
1/2 cup grated cheddar
Preheat oven to 350. Using a 9″ pie plate, spread cream cheese on bottom of plate. Spread sauce on top of cream cheese. Sprinkle with pepperoni.
Bake 10-15 minutes.
Top with mozzarella & cheddar – you may return to the oven just to melt, or serve unmelted (it’s easier to scoop unmelted)
I just printed the team logos off of the internet and attached them to scrapbook paper to make the cupcake toppers.
Little Smokies wrapped in Pillsbury crescent dough. A favorite at our house! And to make it even easier, use a pizza cutter to cut the dough in strips.
Mini Pigs in a Blanket
Little Smokies package
1 or 2 cans Pillsbury crescent rolls
Directions:
Preheat oven according to directions on crescent roll package.
Unroll but leave intact 2 triangles of crescent rolls. Pinch seam together and cut lengthwise into 5 strips and then cross-wise to make 10 strips.
Roll each strip around one sausage and place in baking pan that has been sprayed with non-stick cooking oil.
Bake according to crescent roll package directions.
Creamy Onion Dip
1 1/4 cups sour cream
1/2 cup mayo
1/8 cup chopped green onion
1 (1 ounce) package dry onion soup mix
1/4 teaspoon dried minced onion
salt and pepper to taste
In a medium bowl, stir together nonfat sour cream, fat-free mayonnaise, green onion, dry onion soup mix, dry minced onion, salt and pepper. Chill until serving.
Superbowl = Superyum! Go team!
