These Slow Cooker Kansas Cowboy Beans are a family favorite of ours! Perfect for potlucks, picnics, family get togethers, 4th of July celebrations and church gatherings, they are always the first to disappear! Also known as Chuckwagon beans, Texas BBQ Beans or Calico Beans, we call these Kansas Cowboy Beans since this is my sister’s recipe and she was born in Kansas!

You will need:

½ pound ground beef
¾ pound kielbasa
1 medium diced onion
2 (16 oz.) cans baked beans
1 (16 oz.) can large butter beans
1 (15.5 oz.) can red kidney beans
¼ cup molasses
1 cup ketchup
3 teaspoons liquid smoke
3 Tablespoons white vinegar
Directions for Slow Cooker Kansas Cowboy Beans:
First dice the onion and slice the kielbasa into bite sized rounds. Then brown the ground beef, kielbasa and onion in a frying pan.

Next place the meat mixture into the slow cooker.

Then drain the Butter Beans and Kidney Beans and add them into the crockpot along with the baked beans

Now mix the ketchup, liquid smoke and molasses together in a small bowl

Pour the mixture into the slow cooker.

Mix everything together and cook on low for 4 hours.

Now you have THE BEST Slow Cooker Kansas Cowboy Beans! Everyone absolutely loves these and they are so easy to make. The perfect side for hamburgers, hot dogs, steak, chicken or pork! Your family and guests will be begging for the recipe. Great as a meal too with a side of cornbread and my mom’s famous vinegar coleslaw!

Slow Cooker Kansas Cowboy Beans
These slow cooker cowboy beans are always the first to go at any gathering, people will be begging you for the recipe!
Ingredients
- ½ pound ground beef
- ¾ pound polish sausage
- 1 medium diced onion
- 2 (16 oz.) cans pork and beans
- 1 (16 oz.) can large butter beans
- 1 (15.5 oz.) can red kidney beans
- 1 cup ketchup
- ¼ cup molasses
- 3 teaspoons liquid smoke
- 3 Tablespoons white vinegar
- Slow Cooker
Instructions
- First chop the onions and slice the kielbasa into bite sized rounds.
- Next brown the ground beef, polish sausage and onion in a frying pan.
- Now place the meat mixture into the slow cooker,
- Drain the butter and kidney beans and add into the crockpot along with the baked beans
- Stir together the ketchup, molasses and liquid smoke in a small bowl and pour over the beans.
- Stir everything together to combine.
- Cook on low for 4 hours
