Directions for these sweet cookies for mom can be found in my book Party with Sweet Treats available on Amazon.
My inspiration for my Mother’s Day dessert table was from a trip I took up to the beautiful Roozengaarde Daffodil and Tulip Fields in Mount Vernon, Washington. I brought a cupcake I made for a little photo op!
Lemon cupcakes topped with daffodils I made out of fondant. I dressed the platter up with pearls!
These pretty posie pearl pops were easy to make! For direction on how to, check out my tutorial section here.
I found these yummy pastel meringue cookies from Cost Plus World Market.
Also at Cost Plus World Market were these adorable meringue cups. I put a lemon filling in the cups and topped them with pretty fondant flower toppers.
I took small lollipops and attached them to fondant daffodil petals.
These signs were created using the photos I took at the daffodil fields as a background. The pastel mints with tiny pearl sprinkles were found at Target.
Sunny daffodils, lace and pearls. A pretty and affordable table with minimal fuss…after all I’m a mom too and deserve a break! 🙂 Happy Mother’s Day!

Fresh tulips in cute vases – such a sweet touch – so inexpensive. The vases were 94 cents at Walmart, and the fresh tulips were literally cut right off the field in Mount Vernon, Washington.

A little note about my mom…
I love my mom. She’s awesome. She immigrated to the United States from Korea in the late 1950’s. She still has a cute little accent that I don’t notice because I grew up with it, but every once in a while it’ll become so prominent that even I can’t ignore it. Like when my son was 2 and she was teaching him how to count money, she would say, “One dolla, two, dolla” I would then hear my son repeat very clearly, “One dolla, two dolla”. Totally cracked me up, and when she asked why I was giggling, I said, “Mom, it’s dollar. Dolla is real cute, but Carson doesn’t look Korean and I’m pretty sure people won’t know why he’s speaking with an accent.” We had a good laugh over that.
When my mom had holiday celebrations she would have an abundance of food. Ok, not really an abundance, more like an endless buffet of food. I’ll never forget when my husband (then boyfriend) came over for the first time he ate a dozen cupcakes. She was THRILLED. Mom loves to feed people, and boy did she love Travis! She baked more. He was stuffed, but she didn’t care. She baked more just in case. There was no stopping her. It’s just best to get out of the way.
Side note: I used to think a dozen cupcakes were a lot for anyone to eat until my two boys became teenagers.- For the record, I came from a family of all girls.
But that’s the Korean culture. Eat! Eat! Eat! It’s a way of showing love, and I guess that’s why I work so hard to put on the perfect party. A party full of personal touches. It’s the way I show love.
See what you started Mom? It’s all your fault. And I love you for it. Happy Mother’s Day.
