The perfect pair! Making these “Love is Sweet” Valentine’s day cookies is just the most adorable way to say I love you!
Super cute Valentine’s day cookies that are so easy to make!
You will need:
- Heart shaped sugar cookies – homemade or store-bought (I used store-bought)
- Pink store-bought cookie icing pouch
- Celebration pearls – red and white by SweetWorks
- Tootsie Rolls – chocolate and fruit flavored
- Starburst candies
- Airhead candies
- caramels
- Heart sprinkles
- Black edible marker
- **Various candies and sprinkles – to see which candies and sprinkles you will need read each recipe below.
1. Using cookie icing pouch, frost the top of a heart cookie.
2. Arrange candy pearls around the edge of the heart cookie, alternating red and white.
For the egg:
1. Soften a white Airhead candy in the microwave for about 7 seconds so it can be shaped easily.
2. Pull off a small piece, about the size of a nickel and roll into a ball.
3. Flatten with fingers, giving it a fried egg shape.
4. Press a yellow Sixlet candy in the middle.
5. Draw a smiley face with a black edible marker.
For the bacon:
1. Soften vanilla and cherry Tootsie Rolls by microwaving them for about 7 seconds.
2. Flatten with fingers into strips.
3. Place a strip of white in the middle with smaller red strips on each side. Press together.
4. Trim with kitchen shears.
5. Make a smiley face with a black edible marker.
Place both egg & bacon on cookie. Place 2 red heart sprinkles in the middle of the cookie.
For the peas:
1. Place 2 green Sixlet candies on the iced cookie.
2. Draw a smiley face on each with a black edible marker.
For the carrots:
1. With a toothpick dipped in melted white chocolate or candy melts, attach a green clover sprinkle to the end of an orange Mike & Ike candy.
2. Draw a smiley face on each carrot and place on top of iced cookie.
3. Put 2 heart sprinkles in the middle of the peas and carrots.
For the macaroni:
1. Microwave a vanilla Tootsie Roll for about 7 seconds so it can be easily shaped.
2. Using about half of the Tootsie Roll, form into a macaroni shape.
3. With a toothpick, make a hole in each end of the macaroni.
4. Draw a smiley face with a black edible marker.
For the cheese:
1. Microwave an orange Tootsie Roll for about 7 seconds so it can be easily shaped.
2. Form into a small triangle so it resembles cheese.
3. Using a very small frosting piping tip, make holes in the cheese.
4. Draw a smiley face with a black edible marker.
5. Place 2 red heart sprinkles in the middle of the cookie.
For the bread:
1. Soften a white Tootsie roll and a caramel in the microwave for about 7 seconds.
2. Break the Tootsie roll in half and shape into a square. Using your fingers, press into a bread shape by round the corners and slightly indenting the side of the square.
3. Roll out a small piece of the caramel into a long rope and wrap around the bread for the crust.
4. Draw a smiley face in the middle of the bread piece with a black edible marker.
For the butter:
1. Draw a smiley face on a yellow Starburst candy.
2, Place the bread and butter on top of the frosted cookie.
3. Put 2 spinnkle hearts in the middle of the bread and butter.
For the milk:
1. Cut a glass shape out of a white Airhead candy.
2. Make a smiley face with a black edible marker.
For the cookie:
1. Soften a caramel for about 7 seconds.
2. Roll into a ball and flatten.
3. Using a black edible marker make dots to resemble chocolate chips.
4. Draw a smiley face using the black edible marker.
5. Place 2 red heart sprinkles in the middle of the cookie.
For the shake:
1. Frost the top of the Tootsie Roll and sprinkle white non pareils on top.
2. Attach a small red sprinkle on top with frosting for the cherry.
3. Press a small piece of licorice lace into the top of the Tootsie roll for the straw. (You may want to use a toothpick to make a hole in the Tootsie Roll first).
4. Draw a smiley face with a black edible marker.
For the chicken leg:
1. Soften a caramel in the microwave for about 7 seconds.
2. Pull off a piece about the size of a nickel and roll in a ball.
3. Wrap one end around a SweetWorks candy bone and shape into a chicken leg.
4. Draw a smiley face with a black edible marker.
5. Place 2 red heart sprinkles in the middle of the cookie.
For the bubbles:
1. Press white SweetWorks Sixlet candies in the frosting.
2. Make a smiley face with a black edible marker.
For the gum:
1. Press a strawberry Starburst into the frosting.
2. Draw a smiley face with a black edible marker.
3. Place 2 red heart sprinkles in the middle of the cookie.
For the note:
1. Press a black SweetWorks Sixlet candy into the frosting.
2. With a small piping tip and white icing (or you can use a toothpick dipped in white icing) draw on a smiley face.
3. Draw the top of the note on the cookie with a black edible marker.
For the heart.
1. Press a red SweetWorks Crazy Heart candy into the frosting.
2. Draw a smiley face with a black edible marker.
3. Place 2 red heart sprinkles in the middle of the cookie.
For the glaze:
1. Soften a vanilla Tootsie Roll in the microwave for about 7 seconds.
2. Break in half and flatten. Press colored jimmy sprinkles into the glaze.
3. Draw a smiley face with a black edible marker.
For the donut.
1. Soften a caramel in the microwave for about 7 seconds.
2. Make into a donut shape.
3. Draw on a smiley face with a black edible marker.
4. Place 2 red heart sprinkles in the middle of the cookie.
1. Microwave 2 green Tootsie Rolls in for about 7 seconds to soften.
2. Make into flip flop shapes.
3. Attach a jumbo flower sprinkle to each one with frosting.
4. Draw smiley faces with a black edible marker.
5. Place 2 red heart sprinkles in the middle of the cookie.
For the peanut:
1. Soften caramel in the microwave for about 7 seconds.
2. Form into a peanut shape.
3. Draw a smiley face with a black edible marker.
For the butter:
1. Press a yellow Starburst candy into the frosting.
2. Draw a smiley face with a black edible marker.
3. Place 2 red heart sprinkles in the middle of the cookie.
For the straw:
1. Cut a glass shape out of a white Airhead candy.
2. Cut a small piece of a licorice lace and attach to the glass with frosting.
3. Draw a smiley face with a black edible marker.
For the berry:
1. Cut a berry candy in half and press into cookie frosting.
2. Draw a smiley face with a black edible marker.
3. Place 2 red heart sprinkles in the middle of the cookie.
1. Press 2 Jube Jel candy hearts into cookie frosting.
2. Draw smiley faces using a black edible marker.
3. Place 2 red heart sprinkles in the middle of the cookie.
