Years ago I met Larry Manetti, the actor that played Rick on the original Magum PI television show. He was SUPER NICE and gave me his book which also had a number of great recipes. My Hearty Ham and Bacon soup is inspired by one of the amazing recipes in his book and I think of him every time I make my soup. This Hearty Ham and Bacon soup is my youngest son’s favorite! In fact it’s the first thing he wanted when he came home from college!
