These gone fishing cupcakes are so fun and easy to make! Perfect for Father’s Day, a summer afternoon picnic or BBQ or for a camping or fishing themed party! They even have a fun surprise inside to make them extra special! Everyone loves these adorable cupcakes and perfect for a picnic or potluck too!

You will need:
12 vanilla cupcakes
12 goldfish crackers
White sugar pearl sprinkles
12 Pretzel sticks
White fondant
Green fondant
Fish/under the sea sprinkle mix
For the frosting:
1 cup softened butter
3 tsp vanilla extract
4 cups powdered sugar
Blue food coloring
4 Tb heavy cream
1 disposable piping bag

Directions for the surprise inside Gone Fishing Cupcakes:
First, for the frosting, cream butter with mixer until fluffy. Beat in powdered sugar a little at a time until fluffy and completely incorporated. Mix in vanilla. Add in the heavy cream, food coloring and beat in until fluffy and smooth, about 3 minutes.
Next, place the frosting into the disposable piping bag fitted with the #1M piping tip. Set aside.
Now, with a melon baller or knife, core the center out of each cupcake, making sure you don’t cut all the way to the bottom of the cupcake.
Then fill with fish/under the sea sprinkle mix in the center of the cupcake.
Next, place the core on top of the cupcake.
Then pipe frosting on top of each cupcake.
Now roll out white fondant into very thin ropes for the fishing line. Cut the rope so they equal about 3/4 of an inch.
Then, with the green fondant, roll out narrow strips measuring 1/2 to 1 inch long. Twist the strips so they look like lake greenery. Let dry completely.
Then place the pretzel stick on top of the cupcake and attach the fondant rope to one end of the pretzel for the fishing line.
Now place the goldfish cracker on the other end of the fishing line and add the greenery
Finally, sprinkle white sugar pearls on top of cupcake for bubbles.
