You will need:
24 Oreo Cookies
5 TB melted butter
8 oz. cream cheese, softened to room temperature
1 cup sugar
1 cup creamy peanut butter
2 TB melted butter
1 8 oz. tub Cool Whip, thawed
½ cup semi sweet chocolate chips
2 TB butter
2 TB vegetable oil
Chopped peanuts and mini peanut butter cups for garnish
Directions for Easy Chocolate Peanut Butter Pie:
For the crust:
Finely crush the Oreos in a food processor or in a Ziploc bag. Place the Oreo crumbs into a bowl and add 5 TB melted butter. Mix together until thoroughly combined.
Press the crust mixture into a pie dish.
For the filling:
Whip the softened cream cheese until fluffy, scraping the bowl often.
Slowly add the sugar, peanut butter, the 2 TB melted butter and 1/3 of the Cool Whip.
Next with a spatula, fold in the remaining Cool Whip into the peanut butter mixture until thoroughly incorporated.
Fill the pie crust, smoother the top. Chill for at least 1 hour.
For the topping:
Combine the chocolate chips, butter and vegetable oil in a small pan and heat on low stirring constantly until the chocolate is melted. Or you can melt the chocolate, butter and vegetable oil in a microwave safe bowl and heat in 20 second intervals, stirring each time until the chocolate is melted and everything is combined.
Smooth the chocolate mixture on top of the chilled pie starting from the center and working out.
Top the pie with chopped peanuts and mini peanut butter cups and refrigerate for at least 4 hours. This pie is VERY RICH so you can cut it into 12 portions if desired. Garnish with whipped cream if you wish.
