You will need:
1 bunch asparagus
2 TB olive oil
¼ tsp garlic powder
¼ tsp onion powder
Fresh lemon
Salt and pepper to taste
Directions for Easy Broiled Asparagus:
First wash and trim the asparagus. To trim the asparagus, use a sharp knife to cut the bottom of the asparagus where the color changes from white to green, discarding the white part. You may also use a peeler to shave away some of the stalk for a more tender bite if you wish.
Next place the asparagus in one layer on a cookie sheet. You may line the cookie sheet with foil for easy clean up, but don’t use parchment paper because you will be broiling and the parchment paper may catch fire.
Then drizzle the olive oil on the asparagus and toss to coat.

Now sprinkle the asparagus with the garlic powder, onion powder and salt and freshly ground black pepper.

Place the asparagus under the broiler for 3 minutes and then stir or turn the asparagus.
Return the asparagus to the broiler and broil for an additional 2-3 minutes keeping close watch on it.
Remove from the broiler and squeeze fresh lemon juice on top if desired.

This super easy broiled asparagus takes only 5 minutes to broil and is the perfect bite. Tender and crisp, it pairs so well with any protien. Serve it with chicken, beef, ham, pork chops, or fish. My family loves this along side of a good steak or a flaky salmon.
