This is THE BEST Chocolate Banana Bread! So simple to make with just a few ingredients – who says dessert can’t be for breakfast? It’s a great snack any time of day, super moist and really easy to make!

You will need:
4 ripe bananas
1/3 cup softened butter
1 egg
1 ½ tsp vanilla
1 tsp baking soda
¼ tsp salt
1 ¼ cup all purpose flour
¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
½ cup light brown sugar
¼ cup granulated sugar
¼ cup mini semi-sweet chocolate chips
Cooking spray
9×5 loaf pan

Preheat oven to 350 degrees and coat pan with cooking spray. Peel and mash the bananas.
Add butter and sugars and beat with hand mixer until thoroughly combined. Add eggs and vanilla and mix.
In another small bowl, mix together the flour, cocoa, salt and baking soda. Fold the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined. Do not overmix!
Pour the batter into the pan. Sprinkle the chocolate chips on top
Bake at 350 degrees for 45-55 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Cool completely before removing from the pan.
This is such an easy recipe for the moistest chocolate banana bread! I love to eat it plain, right out of the oven, but you could spread a little peanut butter or marshmallow fluff on it!
Another fun idea is to make it into a dessert ! Just top a slice or two of the chocolate banana bread off with a little strawberry jam, a scoop of ice cream, whipped cream, sprinkles and a cherry on top. Tastes just like a banana split!
