It’s the best tasting chocolate frosting I’ve ever had and easily frosts 24 cupcakes or a 9×13 cake. You can even double the recipe for a 2 or 3 layer cake!

I love making my own frosting because it’s always the perfect piping and spreading consistency. You can add a little more powdered sugar or milk to get it just right. More importantly, you know exactly what is in the frosting with simple natural ingredients.
You will need:
1/2 cup butter
2/3 cup unsweetened cocoa
1 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 Milk
3 cups powdered sugar

Directions for Best Chocolate Buttercream Ever:
Using a stand mixer with a paddle attachment, beat together softened butter and cocoa until combined completely.
Alternate adding the powdered sugar and milk a little at a time while beating with mixer.
Mix in vanilla.
Beat for about 3 to 4 minutes on medium to medium high speed.
Add a teaspoon of milk if necessary and mix.
You can double the recipe for a 2 layer cake.

This really is the best chocolate buttercream ever! Perfect for cakes and cupcakes, everyone raves about this frosting!
