Yes, I have been known to use store-bought canned frosting, and there’s no shame in that. It saves time, tastes good and makes life a lot easier. But there are times where I want to start from scratch, and this is such a simple recipe with ingredients you probably already have in your pantry!

There’s nothing better than making your own buttercream frosting because it’s so creamy, dreamy AND it makes your kitchen smell HEAVENLY!
I think this is a great spreadable buttercream AND it’s easy to pipe as well!
You will need:
- 1 cup softened butter
- 3 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 4 cups powdered sugar, sifted
- 4 Tablespoons heavy cream
- Cream butter with mixer until fluffy.
- Beat in powdered sugar a little at a time until fluffy and completely incorporated.
- Mix in vanilla.
- Add in the heavy cream and beat until fluffy and smooth, about 3 minutes.
Add food coloring if desired.
So easy to make, this is the Best Buttercream Ever!
