This Baked Ziti with Kielbasa sausage will be your family’s new favorite! Everyone loves how flavorful it is and it’s great for company too! Pefect for a church potluck and if you are lucky enough to have leftovers, it’s awesome the next day too!

You will need:
8 ounces (half a box) cooked Ziti pasta
14 oz. Kielbasa sausage
2 (15 oz.) cans tomato sauce
¼ cup water
1 medium zucchini, diced
1/2 medium onion, diced
1 red or green bell pepper, seeded and diced
5 garlic cloves, chopped
2 Roma tomatoes, sliced (you will need 10 slices of tomato total)
1 TB chopped fresh basil (save 10 leaves of basil for garnish)
½ cup shredded parmesan cheese
2 cups mozzarella cheese
Salt, fresh ground pepper and onion powder to taste
10 slices French baguette
Olive oil
Garlic powder
10 fresh whole basil leaves

Directions for Baked Ziti with Kielbasa:
First slice the kielbasa in ½“ rounds and lightly saute in a large frying pan.
Then add the garlic and cook for another minute.
Now add in the diced zucchini, onion and red or green pepper, and saute until veggies are tender.
Then add the tomato sauce, chopped basil and 1/4 cup water. Add salt, pepper and onion powder to taste.
Next, add the parmesan cheese and cooked pasta and mix everything together thoroughly.
Then pour everything into a greased 9×13” baking dish.
Now place the 10 slices of bread on top of the ziti and sprinkle with mozzarella cheese.
Then place the bread on top of the cheese and brush the top of the bread with olive oil.
Next dip the tomato slices in olive oil and place one tomato slice on top of each slice of bread and sprinkle with freshly ground pepper.
Now bake at 400 degrees uncovered for 25-30 minutes.
Finally cool for about 10 minutes and top each tomato slice with a fresh basil leaf.
