This Bacon Cheeseburger Tater Tot Casserole is the ultimate comfort food. My kids loved it growing up and it is still a favorite today! The whole family enjoys this easy meal that is ready in under an hour. Perfect for busy weeknights after practice or while watching the big game!

This Bacon Cheeseburger Tater Tot Casserole goes really well with a side salad with ranch or thousand island dressing.
You will need:
1 ½ lbs. lean ground beef
5 slices cooked bacon
½ yellow onion, diced
½ tsp Montreal Steak Seasoning
¼ tsp ground black pepper
2 Tablespoons dill pickle relish
2 Tablespoons yellow mustard
½ cup ketchup
32 oz. bag frozen tater tots
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese, divided

DIRECTIONS:
First, preheat oven to 400 degrees.
Next in a large frying pan, brown the beef and onions until done.
Add the seasoning, pepper, dill pickle relish, mustard and ketchup in the pan, stir to thoroughly combine.
Then spray a 9×13 casserole dish with cooking oil and spread the meat mixture in the bottom of the dish.
Now sprinkle ½ cup cheese on top of the meat mixture.
Next, layer on the frozen tater tots (I didn’t use the entire bag, but almost).
Bake uncovered for 25 minutes.
Now remove the casserole from oven and sprinkle the remaining cheese on top. Crumble the bacon on top of the cheese and return to the oven and bake for about 5 – 10 minutes or until cheese is melted.
Garnish with chives or green onions if desired.
