A Good Thing…

Sweet treats on Martha Stewart Show! Ok. I didn’t even know about this until the day after it aired. I went Christmas shopping this day – the only day I missed watching the Martha Stewart Show. My friend just happened to mention she saw my cookie being featured on the Martha Stewart Show. Cookie? What cookie? Which cookie? Martha actually said my name AGAIN and I MISSED IT? Thank goodness for reruns, and Martha’s website. Here is the video. Yes, I play it over and over, just to hear her say my name. My husband says it’s disturbing. I just remind him of his football instant replays. ‘Nuf said.

Yay! I mean YAY! Martha gave me a shout out on her show. Again. This time it was for my little Santa & Elf candy dishes. I’m soooooooo thrilled! She said they were “adorable and charming.” Thanks Martha, it was the best Christmas gift ever. I heart you. Click here for the video.

I received an email from the Martha Stewart show, saying that a photo from one of my Halloween parties would be featured on her show. I was over the moon thrilled!
Growing up, I didn’t have any craft stores near me. There was no such thing as Michael’s or any big craft outlets in the 1970’s-80’s. I had to get craft supplies from the florist, baker, sewing shops or the hardware store.
So when I go into a place like Michael’s these days, it is overwhelming. I absolutely love to look at all of the new and shiny things they have. I stand there staring at all of the merchandise , just wondering what I can make. Sometimes I stand and stare too long. One time I had 2 employees ask me if I was “all right?” Yes, yes, I’m fine. I’m just trying to figure out what I can make. I don’t need medical attention, really. Sorry if I scared you.
I really don’t think a place like Michael’s would’ve come to exist if it weren’t for Martha. She took crafting to a new level. She is creative and brilliant. I can’t tell you how much I admire her on so many different levels.
To have her say my name on her show and shout me out for my “adorable” mice, well, it was to say the least amazing. My 80 year old mom kept calling me and saying she watched it and was proud. Then she called me back stunned that Martha was making kimchee (my mom was born and raised in Seoul Korea). It was a great day for both of us.
So Martha, thank you. Thanks for the shout out to little ol’ me. I’ll be freaking out about it for a long time…but, it’s a good thing.
